Closer to Conference.

I ended my last blog with the results of the swim team at our last meet against McMurry. Between then and now the swim team has attended two more meets. Our coach has really pushed us hard over the past few weeks. We did not receive any rest before our last two meets. We headed to the Woodlands to swim Centenary the weekend after McMurry. The morning of we woke up at 6:30 a.m to practice then jump on a bus to head to Houston. Our meet was very short and many of us swam four of five events in under two hours. This proved to be very challenging for the girl’s team. We were defeated by Centenary, but to give us some credit they are a Division One swim team. The women on the team were tired and it was starting to show. Our coach did not let up over the next week before our last meet before conference. This past weekend the Trinity Swim team headed across the street to Incarnate Word. The team swam in the UIW invite, and competed against five different teams. This meet consisted of three sessions in one and half days. Most of the girl’s were beyond tired, but this did not stop us for trying our hardest. Every single girl went out there and raced her heart out. We may not have had very many best times or race winners but this is to be expected. The Trinity Women’s team placed second to Incarnate Word, the Division two swim team. Even though we were all beyond tired we really showed what we can do, and pushed through all the pain, finishing our last meet on a high note. Our next swim meet in conference, this is the meet we have all been waiting and training for. Conference takes place February 17-20, in Louisville Kentucky, and the girl’s teams is hoping to make our winning streak eight years in a row.
